The Padilla Cava Maduro is a nice little treat …a sweet delight! The pre-light draw has a nice hay and earth taste that when you start in on this guy you have a good idea where it is going to go. Overall, this cigar has a rustic look to it but well-constructed with a dark wrapper that has a soft touch to it.
Into the first third it is earthy, leathery, and just a bit of zest and cedar. At this point it is a mild smoke but with some good sweet flavor. Right from the start this stick would go great with a light coffee in the morning or even raspberry lemonade during a hot summer lunch break.
Around the second third there is maybe just a little bit more flavor with a woodsy taste on the finish which leads into a pleasant tobacco taste. Every once and a while a cinnamon note is trying to peak through to say, “Hey bud!” I love a cigar when there is a touch of cinnamon or cherry in the smoke.
Moving into the final third there is still that earthy sweet tobacco flavor with a touch of cinnamon taste still there. Overall, the stick was excellent considering the current prices on these.
